Bao buns served with fresh garnishes
The places I keep thinking about.

A few of my favourite food experiences in Cape Town, from fluffy bao buns to a special evening of fine dining.

01 / Cape Town

Nikkei

Nikkei is one of my favourites for a stylish food experience that feels modern, memorable and full of flavour. Japanese-Peruvian inspired dining, beautifully plated dishes and a polished city atmosphere make it a lovely choice for date nights and special occasions.

From fresh seafood flavours to bold small plates and elegant cocktails, this is a place I love for something a little different.

02 / Green Point

Bao Down

Bao Down is one of my favourite Cape Town restaurants for a relaxed yet stylish Asian fusion dining experience. The warm lighting, lush interior and welcoming atmosphere make you want to stay a little longer.

The service was fast and friendly, and the bao buns were unforgettable: soft, fluffy and full of flavour. I tried the pork, beef and prawn bao buns, and each one was beautifully made.

FYN

FYN is one of my favourite fine dining places for a special food experience in the city. Modern African cuisine meets Japanese inspiration in a setting that feels refined, calm and memorable.

The dishes were creative and beautifully presented, with thoughtful flavours and elegant tasting-style courses. This is one of my picks for an occasion that deserves a little extra time at the table.
